2018’s first surprise in the year – in the 2018 Red Dot Product Design Awards, Mini Walk-designed by Ohyeah Technology, with multi-inventions and utility model patents, won the product design Red Dot award.
The Red Dot Design Award was created by the German Design Association and has been in existence for more than 60 years. Through competitions in product design, communication design and design concepts, it attracts more than 60 countries each year and 10,000 entries are submitted for participation. The award-winning works can be exhibited at the Red Dot Museum in Essen, Germany, as well as at the award ceremony. The red dot design award can be traced back to 1955. It is the largest and most influential contest in the world’s most famous design competition and is known as the “Oscar” in the design world.
The red dot award-winning work-MiniI Walk is a smart flat treadmill features with brief appearance and ultra-thin lightweight body. It solves the storage space problem for urban users and renters, as well as brings a more fashionable and intelligent sports experience. The product’s unique intelligent speed control technology enables users to operate the treadmill freely through their own footsteps without any key operation during the whole movement process, making the exercise more arbitrary. This product is designed with two structural forms corresponding to two maximum speeds according to different user needs: 1. without handrails, the maximum speed is not more than 6km/h; 2. with handrails, the maximum speed is no more than 8km/h.
The fact that Ohyeah Technology entered the competition and won the award at it’s first try is a full affirmation of its design concept that integrating design thinking into product production. It not only pursues the practical value of the product, but also focuses on the perfect design and the integration of high technology and new technology.
